Welcome to the palace and garden complex
Ciechanowice

We invite you to visit

The Ciechanowice chateau is a meticulously restored, beautiful architectural and park complex whose roots go back to the Middle Ages. The first documented information about the palace itself dates back to 1568.

The site, which is open to the public, is located in the Lower Silesian Voivodship, in the municipality of Marciszów in the Ore Mountains Landscape Park, in the gorge section of the Bóbr Valley, between the Ore Mountains of Janowickie and the Ołowiankie Mountains, at the foot of the Miedzianka River, in the NATURA 2000 area.

Frescoes

A unique asset Palace are the frescoes and polychromes discovered during the renovation, considered by experts to be among the most valuable not only in Lower Silesia or the whole of historic Silesia, but also in Poland in general.

Their artistic value is comparable to that of the Wawel frescoes. These works of art are a cultural asset of the Polish State and the local Little Homeland.

Parks and gardens

An additional asset of the facility is the charming, well-kept, romantic park with an area of almost 7 hectares. More than 200-year-old linden and beech trees grow there, and there are also a large number of new plantings arranged in the form of three gardens: English, French and Italian.

They feature pieces of high-end garden architecture in the Baroque style, sculptures in stone, metal, glass and ceramics. All of these unique pieces are custom-made by high-class artists.

History

Since 2010 (full story here) the rightful owner of the building is the Sudeckie Przedsiębiorstwo Robót Drogowych Sp. z o.o. in Jelenia Góra, owned by Mr Andrzej Meller, who cares for every detail of the palace and its surrounding park.

Since 2023, the Palace and Gardens have been open to the public.
